"All About the Outfit (Thanksgiving Recap)"

I don't know about you guys, but for me I see every holiday (or really any upcoming event of any kind) as an opportunity to put a special outfit together. I've been known to go out the day of concerts, special dates, holidays and events of all kinds, shopping for the perfect outfit to fit the experience. However, this year for Thanksgiving I decided to be a little more low-key and put together an outfit with some of my favorite pieces that I already had. I wore my House of Harlow printed baby doll dress with my Free People leather motorcycle jacket, which is a staple among my wardrobe. To dress up this edgier combination I finished it off with simple black tights and black suede booties. What are some of your favorite looks this holiday season?

"Learning to be Thankful for the Journey"

Thanksgiving is not only a time to be thankful for what we have in life, but also a time to be thankful for where we are at in our lives as we are each on our own personal journey. We all have these small but meaningful accomplishments, successes or milestones that we reach on our own time and are vital to our personal growth. For me, this feeling of being content with where you're at in life resonates in the song, Fleetwood Mac's "Never Going Back Again". It's about recognizing the progress you've made and the challenges in life you've conquered, whether it be matters of physical or emotional importance. It's about being aware of your place in life and being brave enough to keep moving forward. Regardless of whether you are where you want to be or just starting the journey, be thankful for this place and time in your life, the present. And remember, no matter how many times you've been down, you never have to go back again.

Happy Thanksgiving!

"Welcome to Dreaming in Polaroid!"

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog, Dreaming in Polaroid! My name is Nicole, and I am currently a college student with larger than life dreams! In fact…”You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one”…Okay, enough quoting Lennon! It’s too early on for that! But it’s true that I am bursting at the seams with creative ambitions and am in a constant state of wanderlust. I was born a free spirit, who loves to dance, and some might even call me a bit of a hippie, but that’s me, my personality, and my style, and I whole-heartedly embrace it!
Now that you have a little sense of who I am, I’ll let you know what you can expect me to be sharing here on Dreaming in Polaroid. I can probably be classified as obsessed with pictures, Polaroid pictures especially, but really photography as a whole. It’s unlikely that you’ll catch me without my Fujifilm Instant Camera in tow.
I am a huge music lover with taste ranging everything from your classics, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, to Indie bands and hip-hop/rap, and pretty much everything in between. I will most definitely jump around sporadically when it comes to music. When I’m not taking photos I am most likely scouting for vinyl treasures… or shopping, as I am also a fashion lover and will be posting outfit inspirations often. I have many passions and much to say so I can’t wait to start sharing all of it with you! I would love to hear from you guys and get some of your own ideas and inspiration as well! Thanks for getting to know a little bit about my blog and me. (:
